  • Follows a high desert mesa with mountain views in all directions

  • Located within a wildlife refuge, offering opportunities to see, desert tortoises, bobcats, gila monsters

  • The visitor center is housed in a historic ranch house once owned by the Kannally family, early 1900s cattle ranchers

  • Scenic ramada midway through the loop

  • 1.1-mile loop trail through desert foothills north of the Santa Catalina Mountains

  • Can be hiked clockwise or counterclockwise
