Overview
Tucson Mountain Park encompasses 20,000 acres of Sonoran Desert terrain
Offers over 60 miles of shared-use trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding
The Bowen Trail, connecting with the Yetman Trail, is one of the park’s most popular routes which passes through a dense saguaro forest to the remote ruins of the Bowen Stone House which was constructed in the 1930s
Parking, Restrooms & Amenities
No parking or amenities directly at the trailhead
Hikers typically park at the Star Pass Resort for a $6 fee
Access to restrooms, a café, and a small store available at the Starr Pass Resort
Dogs are not allowed on this wilderness trail

Bowen Trailhead is located across the street from Tucson’s Starr Pass Resort
Requires a walk through the property and a street crossing to reach the trailhead
Expect about 15 minutes from car to trail start
This out-and-back hike is 2.8 miles, as the return route retraces the hike to the Bowen trailhead
