Arizona State Parks: Trails for Everyone

Arizona State Parks are hard to beat. From well-maintained trails and excellent amenities to top-notch Visitor Centers, these parks offer wonderful opportunities to explore Arizona’s diverse landscapes.

As part of our ongoing trail work, the TAT team has documented nine trails in Southern Arizona’s State Parks. These trail descriptions are designed to give hikers the information they need to make informed decisions about where—and how—to explore.

A New Trail to Explore:

We just added a new trail description for the Canyon Loop Trail at Catalina State Park. This scenic route includes a shady stroll along a desert wash, along with vast views of the Catalina Mountains.

Expanding Access through Partnership:

In 2026, TAT was awarded a grant from Arizona State Parks and Trails’ Recreational Trails Program to document more trails and provide information to help hikers with disabilities plan their park visits. So, before your next adventure, take a look at the TAT trail list, learn what to expect, and know before you go.
