We are excited to announce that Tucson AccessTrails (TAT) has new support! The Community Foundation of Southern Arizona (CFSA) provided funding to TAT to add new trails stretching from Yuma to Safford. With this CFSA funding, TAT will increase its efforts to encourage inclusive outdoor recreation across Southern Arizona.

CFSA has been serving Arizona since 1980, helping individuals, families, businesses and nonprofits create a stronger community. TAT is honored to join CFSA to make a difference in the quality of life for communities south of the Gila River.

Our first stop will be a visit to parks in Yuma where we will describe trails near the Colorado River State Historic Park, the Yuma Territorial Prison State Historic Park, and West Wetlands City Park. This CFSA grant made something wonderful happen – a new connection between our nonprofit corporation, hikers in Southeast Arizona and Yuma trail managers. Bringing together such diverse communities for a common purpose makes all of us stronger.

After Yuma, we intend to visit Safford to describe trails in Roper Lake State Park and Dankworth Pond State Park. Every time we reach a new hiking community, it advances TAT’s larger goal of improving the entire trail system in Arizona for the benefit of hikers with disabilities. Thank you CFSA.

If you have a favorite park in Cochise, Graham, Greenlee and Yuma counties, please send us a note on our Contact Us page and we’ll join you for a hike.

People hike locally and we strive to serve the largest community possible. Donations keep our mission moving so please help if you can.

Hike on!  TAT Team
